Ocean Park Hong Kong offers more than just sit-down restaurants. There are over 25 food kiosks and even a McDonald's to satisfy your hunger. It's important to note that the prices of food and snacks inside the park are higher than usual, so keep that in mind when budgeting for meals.

We spent around HKD 250 per person on a meal during our visit. In addition to food, there are over 17 outlets throughout the park to shop for unique souvenirs and gifts, from panda-themed goodies to ocean-inspired trinkets. However, it can get quite hot during the day, so I spent HKD 350 on a portable fan to stay cool and comfortable while exploring the park.

    Visitor Tips:

Pre-book your tickets to avoid any entry-related hassles.
Allocate a full day for your visit to the theme park, as the attractions and activities have long queues and may take up considerable time.
Plan your itinerary by checking the daily schedule and attractions beforehand.
Public transportation is the best way to reach Ocean Park Hong Kong.
Consider bringing extra clothing, including spare underwear.
Stay cool by bringing a portable fan and umbrella to protect you from the sun's heat.
Drinks can be costly inside the park, but you can bring an EMPTY tumbler to fill up at their water fountains.
Respect the animals and observe silence. Do not feed, interact with, or disturb them in any way while in the park.

    Frequently Asked Questions:

People often ask me about my experience at Ocean Park in Hong Kong. To sum it up, my overall experience is a 9.5 out of 10 for all the attractions they offer. However, I was disappointed with their oceanarium as I had high expectations. Having previously visited Ocean Park in Manila, I expected the Hong Kong location to be even better, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. Nonetheless, the rest of the park more than made up for it with its exciting rides, animal shows, and amazing views.

    Q. Which is better, Hong Kong Disneyland or Ocean Park?

    A. Both Ocean Park and HK Disneyland are two of the most popular theme parks in Hong Kong. Although they both have unique attractions, Ocean Park is a more holistic experience, combining entertainment with nature and animals. The park has several thrilling rides and exciting attractions, such as the Hair Raiser and the Abyss Turbo Drop, sure to get your adrenaline pumping. Moreover, Ocean Park has a vast oceanarium that features a wide range of marine animals, including sharks, rays, and jellyfish, providing visitors with a chance to experience the wonders of the underwater world.

In contrast, while HK Disneyland is undoubtedly a great place to visit, it has a limited theme, mainly focused on Disney characters and stories. However, the park still offers a range of attractions that will delight visitors of all ages, such as the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle and the thrilling Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars. In summary, both theme parks offer unique experiences. Still, if you're looking for a more comprehensive experience combining entertainment, nature, and animals, Ocean Park is the place to be.

    Q. Should I visit Ocean Park Hong Kong or the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom?

    A. Ocean Park and the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom offer similar experiences when considering theme parks in Hong Kong. However, Ocean Park is the better option if you're traveling to Hong Kong for a holiday. Ocean Park is located in Hong Kong, unlike Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, which is situated in Zhuhai, a city in mainland China. This eliminates the need for an applicable visa, making it more accessible and convenient.

What makes Ocean Park truly unique is its massive size, covering 91.5 hectares (226 acres) of land area. It's beautifully blended with nature and features stunning views of the sea. The park offers a range of activities and attractions suitable for all ages, from thrilling roller coasters to up-close encounters with animals. It's a unique animal and amusement park in Hong Kong that you would want to take advantage of.

Overall, if you're planning a holiday to Hong Kong, you should definitely include Ocean Park in your itinerary. It offers everything you're looking for in a theme park, making it a spectacular marvel you shouldn't miss.

    Q. Which is a better Ocean Park, Hong Kong or Manila?

    A. When comparing Manila Ocean Park to Hong Kong Ocean Park, it's important to consider the limitations that Manila Ocean Park faces due to its location and size. While Hong Kong Ocean Park is a sprawling theme park with numerous attractions, Manila Ocean Park is a more compact space, limiting its ability to incorporate a full-fledged amusement park.

However, this doesn't mean that Manila Ocean Park lacks anything in terms of marine attractions. In fact, the park has a wide range of exhibits and experiences that are focused on showcasing the beauty and diversity of the ocean. For example, visitors can explore the oceanarium, which features a vast collection of marine life, including sharks, stingrays, and various fish species.

One of the unique features of Manila Ocean Park is its jellyfish attraction. The park has an entire section dedicated to these mesmerizing creatures, with different species of jellyfish on display in large, illuminated tanks. The park also has several other interactive exhibits, such as the touch pool, where visitors can interact with starfish, sea urchins, and other marine animals.

While Manila Ocean Park may not have the same scale and scope as Hong Kong Ocean Park, it still offers a unique and impressive experience for visitors interested in marine life and conservation. Its limited space has been well utilized to create a world-class aquarium that allows visitors to get up close and personal with some of the most fascinating creatures in the ocean.
